Felipe began working with tutors around twelve months before his 7+ exam. As a July baby, Felipe was very young for his year, almost eleven months younger than some of the others boys in his school year. This meant it was essential that Felipe, a very intelligent boy with an active mind, worked with his tutors to help him concentrate and focus.
Felipe covered Maths with his own family, and worked on reasoning and English with two tutors. Although Felipe had weekly lessons, his family also arranged for tutors to take him on two travelling placements, so that he could work intensively with them.
This tuition time, and Felipe's focus and hard work, really paid off. Although much younger than other boys sitting the 7+, Felipe's maturity and drive meant that he was completing 9-10 reasoning and English papers with his tutors directly before his exams. Felipe received offers of places from both St Paul's and Westminster, and in the end, chose the latter, as his bother - another student - was also offered a place, having also excelled at his entrance exams.
